Lymm High School’s Head Teacher – Gwyn Williams, dropped by the MIX56 Morning Show this week for an uplifting and inspiring chat with Phil Roberts – and it proved to be one of those feel-good moments that left listeners smiling.
Gwyn spoke warmly about the school’s many recent achievements and gave a real sense of the passion and pride that drives both staff and students.
From outstanding exam results and innovative teaching projects to a growing emphasis on wellbeing and extra-curricular opportunities, it’s clear Lymm High is a place where young people are encouraged to aim high and explore their full potential.
Looking ahead, Gwyn shared his hopes for the future: continuing to develop a learning environment that balances academic success with creativity, resilience, and kindness.

He talked about working to ensure students leave not only with great qualifications but also with the confidence and skills to thrive in whatever path they choose – whether that’s further education, apprenticeships, or entering the world of work.
Of course, like so many schools, there are challenges, especially around funding.
Gwyn was honest about the pressures that can come with balancing budgets while still maintaining excellent standards and opportunities for students.
Yet his commitment shone through – determined to keep Lymm High moving forward despite the constraints, and proud of how the school community pulls together to make the very best of the resources they have.
It was a conversation packed with positivity, a sense of shared purpose, and genuine belief in the potential of young people.
In Phil’s words:
“If everyone could start their day with the kind of energy Gwyn brings, the world would be a brighter place.”
