Chester Floating Market

The Floating Market makes a visit to Canal Side Chester this coming bank holiday weekend!

A great, family friendly day out along the towpath.

Come and explore floating boutiques, bakeries and workshops.  From handmade crafs and artisan food.  From handmade crafts and artisan food, to unique hardware and gifts.  It’s a community event unlike anything else.

Get ready for a fantastic August Bank Holiday weekend packed with FREE family fun, live entertainment, face painting, crafts, comedy shows, giant walkabout characters and plenty of seaside magic in the heart of Crewe.

From Saturday 29 August to Monday 31 August (11am – 4pm) enjoy a packed programme of free family entertainment, with live performances, face painting, crafts, walkabout characters and beach discos hosted by Catch92 throughout the weekend.

The Incredible Life & Career of Peter Colins

A special exhibition at Lymm Heritage Centre

In the summer of 1976 local legend, Speedway World Champion, Peter Collins roared his way to victory in front of a crowd of over 120,000 in Poland.

Now a special exhibition at Lymm Heritage Centre celebrates Peter’s victory – featuring some of his incredible bikes, his racing kit and other memorabilia.

Peter, who still lives in the area will be putting in appearances too and signing copies of his autobiography. The exhibition opens on August 29 and is due to run until the end of November.  Find out more at LYMM HERITAGE CENTRE

Free Circus Workshop

Blakemere Craft Centre Village Sunday 30th August

Come along to a FREE Circus Workshop in the Courtyard from 11am to 4pm!

Learn the art of juggling with balls, scarves, and clubs, master plate spinning, try your hand at poi and devilstick, and discover the magic of Chinese diabolo!

With beginners stilts, feather balancing, cigar boxes, fun wheels, and Chinese ribbons also on the agenda, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

Foraging: The Secrets of the British Wood

Spud Wood Lymm – Sunday 30th August from 1pm

Foraging: Secrets of the British Wood is a two-hour real-world learning experience for ages 10 to 18 in Spud Wood, Lymm.

With forager Pete McCusker, teenagers learn to read the plants, fungi, ecology, medicine and old stories most people walk straight past.

Each teenager attends with a parent or another adult. Foxchaser organises the teen-focused group, so families can book one young person’s place without assembling a group themselves.

£40 teen place, £20 reduced adult place.

People’s Emergency Briefing (Crewe, Nantwich & Beyond)

A Special Community Screening on Monday 5th October at Nantwich Civic Hall

Organised by Sustainable Nantwich in association with Nantwich Film Club and others, there will be a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing – an eye-opening short film bringing together nine leading UK scientists and experts with the latest evidence and why it matters.

Doors open at 7.00pm. After the film there will be a short open discussion about what this all means for the community.  Tickets are £3 each and must be booked in advance as numbers are limited.  Book Here

A fantasic family-friendly car show featuring Jaguar Day on the Sunday – and Mercedes Benz day on the Monday.  With over 600 classics to see, plus autojumbe – it promises to be a fantastic event!  10am – 4pm.  Parking is FREE.
