GOOD MORNING CHESHIRE
This morning on Good Morning Cheshire, listeners enjoyed a special live performance from one of the area’s most exciting emerging artists: Lymm-based singer-songwriter Lenny Shield.
Lenny gave Wednesday an uplifting start with an original song, showcasing the kind of fresh, personal writing that’s quickly making him a name to watch in the local scene.
His musical journey has been shaped by an unusually international upbringing: growing up in Oman and the Philippines, then attending high school in Thailand, before settling back in Lymm.
These days, Lenny balances songwriting and gigs with shifts behind the bar at The Brewery Tap in Lymm, where he’s also a regular at the venue’s popular Open Mic Nights.
Held every other Thursday, the Tap’s open mic gives local performers a stage to share music, comedy or poetry with a supportive crowd; the next night is tomorrow, Thursday 10 September.
In the studio, Lenny explained that today’s live track was inspired by a friend’s rather enviable experiences with girls – a playful, story-driven song that hints at his knack for turning real life into relatable lyrics.
You can hear the performance again – along with the full chat about his background, influences and upcoming plans right here.
