MIX 56 CHESHIRE'S BEST MUSIC MIX

Big news for one of Cheshire’s most loved charities — comedian, actor and broadcaster Jason Manford has been officially named as the new President of the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT).
A special welcome event took place yesterday at CAFT’s 10-acre site in Millington, and MIX56 was there to capture the moment. You can even hear Smithy’s chat with Jason at the bottom of this page.
The ceremony was especially meaningful as Jason was handed the symbolic “baton” by the family of the late Sir Bobby Charlton, who served as CAFT’s President for an incredible 23 years. Sir Bobby was deeply devoted to the charity and its mission to bring happiness and support to children and families facing tough times.
Jason has been a Patron of CAFT since 2009, helping to raise more than £150,000 and regularly giving his time to meet families and see the charity’s impact first-hand.
Speaking at the event, Jason said it was an honour to follow in Sir Bobby’s footsteps, describing him as “a true champion for children and families.” He added, “I’ve seen first-hand the magic that CAFT creates – giving children the chance to laugh and simply be children.”
CAFT’s Chief Executive, Ian Eccles, said the charity was thrilled that Jason had accepted the role: “Jason has been an unwavering supporter for many years. He understands our families and the difference our work makes. We know he will carry Sir Bobby’s legacy forward with warmth, energy and a deep commitment.”
Everyone at MIX56 joins CAFT in congratulating Jason on his new role — and we can’t wait to see the difference he’ll continue to make for this wonderful local charity!
