Background

Dan Price is the Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC)

As PCC, Dan’s role is to be the voice of the people in Cheshire – making sure that the Police are meeting the needs of the community.

It’s a role he was elected for in May 2024, a position previously occupied by John Dwyer.

It was a pleasure to welcome Dan to our morning studio to find out more about him and his future vision of Policing in Cheshire.

SWAP Fund

Launching today is the SWAP Community Fund – Dan’s initiative to turn criminal money into positive action.

This year, the total funding pot is a very welcome £150,000 and local community groups, volunteer-led organisations and charities are now invited to apply for grants between £1000 and £5000 for projects that will make a difference in local communities.

Particularly:

  • Improving community safety
  • Reducing offending and repeat offending
  • Supporting victims of crime
  • Youth engagement projects

Applications for this round of funding are invited until February 2025 – and unlike in other years, there is no requirement for match funding.

If you would like to find out more about this initiative and make an application, you can find out more on the official Police and Crime Commissioners Website.
