Creating Adventures at 10: A Growing Charity with Big Dreams

This morning on Breakfast, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming four truly inspiring guests into the studio – Tracey, Sue, Bethan and Barbara from Warrington-based charity, Creating Adventures.

Celebrating a very special milestone, the charity is marking its 10th anniversary this year. Over the past decade, Creating Adventures has become a lifeline for adults aged 18 to 75 with autism, diagnosed disabilities, or learning difficulties – offering weekly activities, social opportunities, and a real sense of belonging.

From creative arts and cookery sessions to music workshops and days out, the charity provides a vibrant and supportive environment where friendships flourish and confidence grows. Today, around 100 members benefit from these sessions – with many more eager to join.

The anniversary celebrations were marked in style with a glittering Mardi Gras Ball at the Village Hotel in Warrington, bringing together supporters for a fantastic evening of fundraising and fun.

But as the team shared this morning, the need for continued support is more important than ever.

One of the biggest challenges they face is space. Currently sharing facilities with the DVLA in Orford Jubilee Park, the charity is limited by availability in what is already a busy, shared setting.

Their dream? A permanent home – perhaps a disused community building – that would allow them to expand, welcome more members and offer even more life-enhancing opportunities.

In the meantime, their incredible fundraising and community efforts continue. You can catch their Bold as Brass band opening Disability Awareness Day at Walton Hall and Gardens on Sunday 12th July, with their uplifting Beautiful Noise Choir also performing later in the day in the art marquee.

It was a joy to have such passionate, positive guests in the studio this morning – a real reminder of the power of community and the difference a charity like Creating Adventures makes every single day.
