This is the true story of Sorrelle – a little girl who at ten months of age was diagnosed with Leukaemia

There’s a saying that everybody has a book inside them – but Small Boat in a Big Ocean perhaps wasn’t the book that local author Sam Price ever expected, or hoped to write.

At the age of just 10 months, Sam’s Granddaughter, Sorrelle, was diagnosed with leukaemia.

It’s been quite a journey of ups and downs, hopes and dreams and much soul-searching, though very happily – Sorrelle is now cured and is looking forward to a much brighter future.

Small Boat in a Big Ocean documents the day by day experience of living with leukaemia – and celebrates the incredible work that is done at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Oncology & Bone Marrow Transplant wards.

Though an emotional read, the book is inspiring – and will give hope to many who are going through this challenging illness.

Small Boat in a Big Ocean is available now from Amazon & Waterstones

It was a pleasure to welcome Sam and Sorrelle to our morning studio.  You can listen again right here.

The book is now available from Amazon and Waterstones – and an audio version is currently in progress – and sales of the book will be supporting the Manchester Foundation Trust Charity.
