Five years was definitely worth the wait!

Rob Wheeler & The Hushtones
Kazimier Stockroom, Liverpool – Sunday 15th June 2025

Liverpool’s legacy as a centre of musical excellence is undeniable — this vibrant city has been officially crowned UNESCO City of Music for producing more chart-topping hits than anywhere else in the UK, with legends like The Beatles and Cilla Black inspiring generations of artists to follow their hopes and dreams.

At the heart of Liverpool’s music scene today is the Kazimier Stockroom, a cosy venue dedicated to championing new talent and providing a stage for tomorrow’s pop stars.

Here, emerging artists find a supportive community and the freedom to experiment, perform, and connect with passionate audiences – just as their famous predecessors once did.

Cue 9pm on Sunday 15th June 2025 – and five years later than first planned – Rob Wheeler finally took to the stage along with his talented band, the Hushtones – and delivered what was a truly outstanding, powerful acoustic set to a delighted audience.

Rob’s journey is a true story of resilience and triumph.

In 2020, his highly anticipated Liverpool concert was cancelled due to the Covid pandemic – a setback that could have stalled any artist’s momentum.

Instead, Rob used this pause to fuel his passion for song writing, embarking on a transformative journey to Nashville, where he collaborated with Grammy-nominated writers and some of the biggest names in country music.

His time in Nashville was more than just a creative retreat; it was a turning point that shaped his sound and expanded his horizons.

Rob’s collaborations with acclaimed songwriters like Jeff Trott, Steve Dorff, and Frank Liddell brought a new depth to his music, blending the heart of UK country with the soul of Nashville.

This hard work and determination led to a record contract and the release of his #1 UK Country Music Album – Leave Tomorrow – truly marking his arrival as a major force in the UK country scene.

Tonight’s gig was just perfect, filled with an electric atmosphere from start to finish.

Both loyal followers and new fans turned out in force, showing genuine appreciation for the music and making the night truly special.

Rob delivered his self-penned songs with the confidence and presence of a million-selling artist.

Yet, despite his considerable success he’s humble, down to earth, funny – and still very much that boy-next-door type of character.

A key ingredient to tonight’s stellar performance was The Hushtones – Rob’s accomplished backing band.

The group featured standout musicians including Kath Ord on fiddle, Paul Adams on bass and Ben Hughzy Hughes on guitar.

A remarkable group of musicians with captivating stage charisma.

Hughzy by the way, treated the audience to a solo set before the main event – showcasing his own music and distinctive style.  He’s one to watch.

Listen out for his new single Welcome to the World on MIX56 which is being released this coming Friday (20th June).  It’s rather good!

A cracking night.  Great venue.  Great audience.

Each performance resonated with authenticity, leaving the audience captivated by Rob Wheeler’s talent and passion.

Well worth the five-year wait!
