There was a real buzz at The Park Royal Hotel & Spa in Stretton on Wednesday evening as members, hotel guests and prospective newcomers gathered to celebrate the reopening of its newly refurbished health club and spa.

The relaunch follows a £120,000 investment in the hotel’s wellness facilities, with guided tours, treatment demonstrations and competitions helping visitors discover what is on offer.

The refreshed spa includes seven treatment rooms, a relaxation room and an Elemis treatment menu, while the wider leisure facilities include a 22-metre indoor pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi.

Smithy’s first stop was the newly transformed spa: a calm, softly lit space designed for switching off from the everyday. Therapist Poppy talked through the choice of treatments available, from facials and massage rituals to nail treatments and aromatic hot-stone experiences.

The spa’s Elemis partnership brings an added sense of luxury, with products used throughout treatments and available to purchase for those wanting to continue their wellbeing routine at home.

Spa Manager Adie proudly showed us around the seven treatment rooms and the welcoming new reception and relaxation areas. Crucially, the spa is not reserved solely for hotel residents or health-club members: local visitors can book spa days and individual treatments too.

Beyond the spa, the health club offers a fully equipped gym with cardio and weights equipment, fitness studios hosting classes including Zumba, spin, yoga and Pilates, plus three tennis courts. Personal trainers are also available to support members with their fitness goals.

The club has built a strong community, with around 2,500 members and some loyal regulars who have been part of it for more than 25 years. That loyalty was clear throughout the evening, alongside plenty of new faces keen to explore the upgraded space.
