Elderflowers are now growing in abundance, so time to find out  more about this much loved medicinal herb!

This month, Barbara came to our studio with some freshly harvested Elderflowers – and a suspicious looking bottle of home brew!

Elderflowers, just like the berries have been prized by Herbalists for Centuries and are used to treat an array of conditions – but be sure to harvest in the warm morning sunshine when the flowers are most potent.

Full of antioxidants, they have anti-inflammatory properties and are useful in treating fevers and seasonal allergies.

Though commercially produced drinks are readily available, it’s easy to make your own Elderflower Cordial!

Top it up with water –  or even something stronger – and you’ll have a refreshing drink which has many beneficial properties!

That said, Ian wasn’t a fan during the taste test!
