Knutsford’s Rob Whyatt Turns His Love of Running into a Social Mission

Listeners to the MIX56 Breakfast Show this morning met an inspiring local guest, Knutsford dad of two – Rob Whyatt – who has channelled his love of running and community spirit into something positive for everyone.

Rob’s setting up a new free local running club, open to all ages and abilities, with one simple goal: to bring people together through movement, conversation and friendship.

The group will run at a relaxed, conversational pace, creating space for participants to enjoy fresh air, connection and good company.

For Rob, the motivation behind starting the club is deeply personal.

After losing his mum a few years ago, running became his way to cope with grief and look after both his mind and body.

He explained that it was not just the exercise, but also the social connections that helped him find balance and happiness again.

“I’m a local Knutsford dad of two who loves running and socialising,” he says. “Miles for the Mind is my motto – it’s about doing something that’s good for both your body and your mental wellbeing.”

The first 5K social run takes place at Tatton Park on Friday 29th November, followed by a well-earned coffee and chat at Tatton Perk.

Everyone is welcome – whether seasoned runners or total beginners – to come along, join in and be part of a friendly local community making positive steps together.
