Lymm Ducks are Ready to Make a Splash This Bank Holiday!

There’s plenty to look forward to this Easter Monday as the much‑loved Lymm Charity Duck Race returns to the Lower Dam — and it’s shaping up to be another fantastic family day out!

Phil was delighted to welcome Robin Middlehurst and Bob O’Leary from the Lymm and District Round Table to the MIX56 studio this week to build excitement for the big day.

The Duck Race is one of the Round Table’s key fundraising events each year, attracting families from miles around to cheer on their favourite yellow racers.

Each year at 12:30pm, a thousand bright yellow rubber ducks are released into Lymm Dingle for a fun‑filled, fast‑flowing race to the finish line.

After a year of being “cooped up in plastic crates,” the ducks can’t wait to stretch their webbed feet and feel the breeze in their feathers! As always, it promises plenty of laughs, tension, and drama as the numbered ducks bob their way downstream — and there can only be one champion.

All profits from the race, after event and club running costs, go straight back into supporting local charities and community groups — a brilliant example of how your two‑pound duck ticket really does make a difference right here in Lymm.

There are some great prizes up for grabs too — £150 for first place, £75 for second, and £50 for third — and tickets are just £2 each, available now at Lymm Duck Race.

Phil’s chat with Robin and Bob gave a lovely insight into the excellent work the Round Table do year‑round to support the community, and the Duck Race is the perfect chance to see that spirit in action.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Lymm event without plenty of fun for everyone — with a fun fair, food stalls, and live updates from MIX56 throughout the afternoon, it’s sure to be a highlight of the Easter weekend.
