SMITHY & IAN
The Breakfast Show: 9th February 2026
Mossy Meadow Farm in High Legh wrapped up its much‑loved Lambing Event this weekend (7th–8th February 2026) with plenty of smiles, laughter and the unmistakable bleats of new arrivals!
Smithy and Ian dropped by for the final day to experience the magic of lambing season and see what goes on behind the scenes of a working sheep farm — and they weren’t disappointed!
Tickets sold out quickly this year, with families, friends – and plenty of big kids alike eager to meet the farm’s newest residents.

Visitors enjoyed a fascinating insight into life on the farm, guided by the friendly Mossy Meadow team. Highlights included educational displays, hands‑on crafting and textiles sessions with Kathryn Webb – and for a lucky few, the unforgettable chance to cuddle a baby lamb!
Smithy also caught up with Farmer Paul Taylor, the third‑generation farmer behind Mossy Meadow, who proudly oversees a flock of over 400 sheep.
Paul shared his passion for farming and the careful work that goes into lambing season — a busy but rewarding time of year for any shepherd.
As Smithy put it, the day was “an outstanding real‑life experience — beautifully organised and bursting with charm.” The coffee, he added, “was pretty decent too!” It’s no wonder this countryside celebration continues to be such a hit with the local community.

Although the special event has now finished for this year, lambing season continues at the farm for a few more weeks before things return to normal.
If you missed out this time, don’t worry — the team is already planning their next Lambing Event for 2027, so be sure to follow Mossy Meadow Farm on social media for updates.
Judging by this year’s turnout, those tickets won’t last long!
