Clare Roberts OBE sets off on an inspiring journey to Petra for charity

Listeners to our morning show were treated to an inspiring chat with Clare Roberts OBE, the dynamic CEO of Kids Planet Day Nurseries, who’s about to embark on a very special adventure.

This weekend, Clare and seventeen friends will set off on a five-day, 100-kilometre trek through the breathtaking landscapes of Jordan, finishing at the ancient city of Petra.

Their mission is to raise vital funds for the Girls Out Loud Foundation — a charity dedicated to empowering teenage girls across the UK by boosting confidence, resilience and self-belief through mentoring and role model programmes.

The group has already raised almost £40,000 for the cause — an incredible achievement that reflects both community generosity and Clare’s own passion for supporting others to reach their potential.

Clare’s story is one of determination and heart.

From opening her very first Kids Planet nursery in Lymm, she has grown the company into one of the UK’s leading nursery groups, with more than 250 settings across England and Wales.

Despite this impressive national success, Kids Planet remains rooted in the local community, with its headquarters still proudly based in Lymm.

As she prepares to take on the Jordanian desert, Clare says she’s ready for an unforgettable challenge — one that’s raising awareness for an extraordinary cause and showing what can be achieved when people come together with purpose and passion.

We wish Clare and the whole team every success and can’t wait to hear all about their adventure when they return!
