The Morning Show:  22nd April 2026

There are some guests who just light up a studio, and Claudia Lou was one of them.

Claudia — better known to plenty of people as Miss Warrington — joined me on Phil In The Morning for a brilliant chat about vintage fashion, pageantry, confidence, social media and why being yourself is always the best style statement.

Infectious Energy from Miss Warrington

Right from the start, Claudia’s energy was infectious. She proudly introduced herself as “your favourite Miss Warrington,” and with a social media following now sitting at around 150,000 to 160,000 across platforms, it’s fair to say she’s built a strong and distinctive personal brand.

She calls herself the vintage girl of Warrington, with her Instagram also describing her as a fashion, lifestyle and beauty content creator, and UK’s National Miss Warrington 2025/26 in the mix too.

Finding Herself Through Vintage Fashion

What makes Claudia stand out is that she isn’t following trends for the sake of it. Her style is rooted in a love of true vintage, especially 1950s fashion. That started when she was younger, when she realised that modern trends never quite felt like her. The moment she found vintage clothes and put them on, she felt like herself for the first time.

Fashion is often sold as something you have to keep up with, but Claudia’s approach is the opposite. She wears what makes her feel confident, comfortable and authentic. That’s why her style works so well — it’s not a costume, it’s an identity. And as she pointed out, a lot of the joy comes from the details: the shapes, the colours, the furniture, the whole atmosphere of the era she loves.

Style vs. Values: Clearing Up Misconceptions

Of course, with a style that noticeable, there are always going to be reactions. Claudia spoke honestly about the fact that not everyone understands vintage fashion, or the difference between vintage style and vintage values.

That distinction matters. Loving the look of the 1940s, 1950s or 1960s does not mean agreeing with everything from those decades, and Claudia was clear that she sees it as an aesthetic, not a set of outdated beliefs.

Pageantry: More Than Just a Crown

That confidence is now carrying her through pageantry too. Claudia is representing Warrington in the UK’s National Miss final, which takes place on Friday 3 July 2026 at Park Hall Hotel in Chorley. UK’s National Miss says the competition is for girls and women aged 12+ with no upper age limit, and it is designed around confidence, skills and celebration as much as glamour.

For Claudia, the pageant is about more than a title. It’s a chance to show that you can be individual and still belong in spaces that might once have felt intimidating. She explained that when she first started out, her confidence was low, but social media, vintage fashion and the support of others helped her grow into herself.

A Personal Connection to The Christie Charity

Charity is also a huge part of her story. Claudia is fundraising for The Christie, and the cause is especially personal to her because the charity supported her family during her grandma’s illness. The Christie says it provides enhanced services above and beyond what the NHS funds, and Claudia spoke powerfully about how important it is to support both the patient and the family through serious illness.

Heartwarming Connections Across Generations

She also told us about one of the most touching moments she’s experienced while out and about in her vintage style. An older man approached her in a shopping centre and said she reminded him of his wife, who had recently died. It was a moving reminder of how style can connect generations and bring back memories people may not have expected to revisit.

That sense of connection is something Claudia clearly values. She’s planning to visit local care homes, run 1950s-themed quizzes and keep using her platform to bring people together. And she’s already got big ambitions beyond the pageant too — including, apparently, a 1950s house one day. Her dad may have his work cut out, but knowing Claudia, she’ll probably make it look effortless.

Warrington’s Vintage Star on the Rise

Claudia Lou is proof that vintage style isn’t just about clothes. It’s about confidence, self-expression and finding a community that gets you. Warrington has a brilliant representative in Claudia, and I’m sure this is only the beginning of a very exciting journey!
