MIX 56 CHESHIRE'S BEST MUSIC MIX

Phil
SMITHY & IAN
GOOD MORNING CHESHIRE
We were absolutely delighted to welcome the wonderful Chloe Jones into the MIX56 studio this morning for Breakfast with Smithy & Ian — and what a treat it was!
Chloe is a local artist and rising star whose debut album, Feels Like Fiction, has just been released. It is a beautiful collection of self-penned Americana, filled with rich storytelling, emotional honesty and songs that stay with you long after the final note.
With country and Americana music enjoying such a strong moment in the UK, there could hardly be a better time for this debut to arrive. Yet Chloe’s sound is not easily pinned down — it blends folk, country and Americana in a way that feels fresh, accessible and instantly engaging for all kinds of listeners.
Smithy and Ian had actually met Chloe only a few weeks ago, when she was one of the entertainers hand-picked to support Jane McDonald on her recent cruise. Chloe performed in the Purple Turtle bar, where the room was packed night after night — and it was easy to see why.
Her warmth, humour and unmistakable talent had people truly connecting with her music.
This morning, we enjoyed recalling some of those special cruising moments together, before turning to Chloe’s own musical journey: where it began, what inspires her writing, and the excitement now building around her forthcoming UK tour.
Chloe treated us to two fantastic tracks from the new album: A Girl Called Indigo, a moving reflection on how life might have been different in another place or time, and Frankenstein, inspired by Mary Shelley’s classic novel.
That literary thread runs throughout Feels Like Fiction. The album is inspired by books and storytelling, and Chloe’s forthcoming tour reflects that beautifully — taking her into bookshops and libraries across the country for intimate, acoustic performances.

Chloe has been building her career on the music scene for some time, earning devoted fans and the attention of influential figures in the industry. Her achievements include a Best Female Vocalist nomination at the British Country Music Association Awards, appearing on BBC’s The Voice UK in 2019, and a Top Ten UK Official Country Charts hit with the standout track Nice to Meet You Again.
Now, with Feels Like Fiction, Chloe steps firmly into the spotlight. Her unique songwriting and expressive vocal talent truly shine, and this album feels like the moment her remarkable journey reaches an exciting new chapter.
The UK tour begins in Belfast on 8 November, with dates across the country. For MIX56 listeners, there are some especially tempting local-ish options:

Chloe has already had an incredible journey — and Feels Like Fiction feels like the album that will introduce her extraordinary talent to an even wider audience.
It is heartfelt, literary, uplifting and impossible not to love.
We can’t wait to see what comes next!
