We catch up with Dan Price, the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire

It’s good news for policing in Cheshire.

Not only has the region recently been rated as being one of the safest places in the UK, Cheshire Police have been graded Outstanding in the latest PEEL inspection report (Police Effectiveness, Efficiency and Legitimacy) which is published by His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services.

The force is also celebrating after receiving additional neighbourhood funding, boosting the budget to £3m.

This will further support the Commissioner’s priority of having more police out in the community.

The SWAP fund is now closed

Over 150 local organisations and charities applied for the SWAP fund, with many receiving grants ranging from £1000 to £5000.

This money, obtained from the proceeds of crime, has gone to support community initiatives and therefore directly back into the community.

The next SWAP fund grant scheme will be announced later in the year.

Keep tuned for more details!
