Cheshire’s communities can bid for up to £2,000 to provide summer holiday activities for young people across the county

Young people in Cheshire are set to benefit from a significant new initiative this summer as Dan Price, the Police and Crime Commissioner, launches the SWAP Summer Support Fund.

This fund offers community groups, charities, social enterprises, and not-for-profit organisations the opportunity to bid for grants of up to £2,000 to deliver activities for children and young people during the school holidays.

The aim is to combat boredom, reduce reliance on screens, and provide meaningful, engaging experiences that promote well-being and inclusion across the county.

The SWAP Summer Support Fund is designed to address key summer challenges, such as increased pressure on families and the risk of anti-social behaviour.

By supporting projects that encourage physical and mental well-being, foster inclusion, and keep young people safe and active, the fund empowers local groups to make a real difference in their communities.

Turning criminal money into positive action

The funding is sourced from money seized from criminal activity, turning negative proceeds into positive opportunities for Cheshire’s youth.

Applications are open until 5pm on Friday, 20th June 2025 with funded projects to be delivered between July and September.

As Dan Price emphasises, this cash injection can help get new projects off the ground, ensuring that children and families across Cheshire enjoy a safe, active, and inspiring summer.

More information about the SWAP Summer Support Fund and the application form can be found on the Cheshire PCC website.
