The Charity has been named as one of the beneficiaries of a new £120,000 Cadent Foundation Community Fund.

The much-loved charity, which supports children across the North West living with disability, illness or social disadvantage, will receive at least £10,000 a year for the next two years.

Even more funds are expected to be raised through fundraising and hands-on support from Cadent’s North West team.

Based on Reddy Lane, CAFT provides free day trips, residential breaks and seasonal activities for thousands of children each year—creating magical experiences for families who need them most. The partnership comes after Cadent employees voted to support the charity through to 2028.

Helen Crowther from CAFT says the team is “absolutely delighted,” adding that Cadent’s passion and commitment will help make a huge difference to children across the region.

Cadent’s North West Network says it’s excited to get started, with plans already underway to raise even more funds and volunteer time to support the charity’s vital work.

Since launching in 2024, the Cadent Foundation Community Fund has raised more than £350,000 for good causes across the UK—highlighting the real impact businesses can make in their local communities.

Smithy caught up with Nick Jarman, Head of Safety & Engineering at Cadent and Helen Crowther from CAFT to find out more.
