MIX 56 (HD) CHESHIRE'S BEST MUSIC MIX
The boxing club provides a welcoming, inclusive environment where members from all walks of life can learn boxing, improve their fitness, and build resilience.
The club is celebrating after receiving a £1000 grant from the Police & Crime Commissioner’s SWAP Fund.
We went along to find out more..
Head Coach, Steve Bunby told us that receiving the £1000 fund has been fantastic for the club – enabling them to purchase additional equipment such as head guards, boxing gloves and so much more.
From a £150,000 funding pot, £50K is still available and local community groups, volunteer-led organisations and charities are now invited to apply for grants of between £1000 and £5000 for projects that will make a difference in local communities. Dan came to the MIX56 studio in September. You can read our original article and listen again here.
But don’t delay, the fund closes in February 2025.
If you would like to find out more about this initiative and make an application, you can find out more on the official Police and Crime Commissioners Website.
At the celebratory event, Smithy chatted to Steven Buby, Head Coach. Mike Dempsey, Coach. Dan Price, Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner….and even had a session in the ring with 13 year old Phoenix!
Safe to say, Phoenix was the better contestant!
