Warrington’s Halliwell Jones Stadium was buzzing today as over 150 delegates came together for the Women in Business Conference, an event timed perfectly to celebrate International Women’s Day.
Organised by Warrington Chamber Plus and Warrington BID, the day brought together a fantastic mix of business leaders, sports professionals, and entrepreneurs for a lively programme of talks, inspiration, and networking.
Warrington South MP Sarah Hall opened the event by sharing her experiences of balancing her demanding role in Parliament with family life.
Her message to women thinking of taking their first steps into business was simple and empowering: “Go for it.”

The day concluded with a thought-provoking presentation from Nikki Potter, an alcohol-free wellbeing coach, who explored how alcohol-fuelled business cultures can sometimes hold women back from their fullest potential.
Her talk sparked an honest discussion about inclusion, confidence, and wellbeing in the workplace.
It was a truly uplifting day of conversation, connection, and celebration — highlighting once again the strength and talent of Warrington’s women in business community.
Smithy also caught up with Andrea Morley from Warrington BID, who shared her thoughts on the success of the event and what’s next for local businesswomen.
