MIX 56 CHESHIRE'S BEST MUSIC MIX
today11 February 2026

Anna Fradgely and Kath Buckley from Bridgewater Players brought a burst of laughter and backstage gossip to breakfast when they joined Smithy and Ian to talk about their new show, The Show Must Go On.
This brand‑new musical comedy, inspired by Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest, promises quick‑fire wit, mistaken identities and more than a few raised eyebrows along the way.
As Anna and Kath revealed, things are every bit as lively behind the scenes as they will be on stage.
Lines are being polished, props are being chased down, and there may have been one or two accidental costume mix‑ups as the cast get carried away with the fun. But amidst the chaos, mirth and merriment, the finishing touches are almost in place for opening night a week on Thursday.
Thelwall Parish Hall will once again be transformed into a cosy playhouse, where audiences can enjoy an unforgettable evening of song, silliness and sharp one‑liners (plus an alcohlic drink or so)!
If you like your theatre warm, witty and packed with local talent, this is definitely your kind of night out. Expect plenty of laughs, catchy musical numbers and that special community buzz you only get when everyone on stage is clearly having the time of their lives.
This production is also a huge milestone for Bridgewater Players, marking their 200th show – a remarkable achievement for a much‑loved local group that has been entertaining the community for decades.
And, as Anna and Kath hinted over their morning cuppa, there are already some exciting productions in the pipeline, so it sounds like the next 200 shows are very much on the way.
If you missed the chat, you can catch all the stories, laughter and behind‑the‑scenes secrets right here – then grab your tickets, because with this lot, the show really must (and will) go on!
