Nominations for the following awards are now open and we need your help to nominate worthy winners of the awards. The qualifying period is 1 September 2023 to 31 August 2024.
We are looking for a young person or a group of young people who have made a difference in their community by showing outstanding commitment to volunteering and taking part in community projects.

Do you know a young person or a group of young people who are committed to playing sport, someone who is a real team player and encourages their team-mates. We are looking for nominations for a young person who has shown great commitment to sport.
We would love to hear about young people who have shown great determination over the last 12 months. Maybe they have overcome challenges, or not given up.

If you know of a young person who you would like to nominate for any award please complete the form below by Sunday 20th October 2024 telling us the following information.
The nominated young person must be aged 16 or under on 31 August 2024, they must also live within our DAB broadcast area. You can make as many nominations as you like, and you may nominate the same young person for various roles.
* You must ask the permission of the parents/carer of the nominee before nominating them and providing their email address.
Winners will be announced in the Kids live at 5 Awards special which is to be aired after the closing date for entries.
Winners will be invited to visit the MIX56 studios in Lymm, to be awarded with a trophy from a member of the MIX56 management team.
Yes of course! You can nominate the same child for as many awards as you like. We just ask that you completed a separate form for each nomination.
Yes you can nominate your own child or a child that is a relative.
Yes you can nominate as many different children for the same award.
No there is no limit to the number of words you can use in your description of why you are nominating someone. But, the more words that you use, the more information the judging panal have to help them decide on the winners.
No, the winners of the awards are not decided via any voting process. The judges consider all of the information provided in each nomination to decide on the winners. It is therefore important to include as much information as possible when you are completing your nomination.
Yes you can nominate individuals and / or groups of children for awards. If you are nominating a group of children, the children should fall within the age criteria and the group must be based within the cheshire area.
We are accepting are for children who live within, or for groups who meet within our broadcast area. This includes all Cheshire postcodes and areas covered by our Cheshire East transmitter (Altrincham) and Stockport Transmitter.
The kids live at 5 awards are awards for children only, and therefore adults cannot be nominated. The children nominated must be 16 years of age, or younger on 31 August 2024.
You can nominate child this year, who was nominated or won and award last year, as long as they meet the age criteria and that their nomination is based on this years qualifying period.
