Be Our Guest is a brand-new children’s book created by hospitality leader Steven Hesketh, designed to open young minds to the exciting world of hospitality.

Set in a charming grand hotel (inspired by the Chester Townhouse Hotel in Chester) that’s in the process of modernising; the story follows the arrival of two important guests on the same day: a bright-eyed apprentice and a sharp-eyed hotel inspector.

They both are taken on a tour of the entire hotel, visiting each department and meeting the team members who keep everything running smoothly. will the hotel get a gold award and a new starter?!

From chefs and receptionists to housekeepers and maintenance staff, young readers get a behind-the-scenes look at the many roles that make up a thriving hotel, all told through fun characters and a lighthearted storyline.

The book was created for two key reasons:

• To educate children (ages 5–10) on the variety of careers within hospitality in a fun and creative way.
• To inspire the next generation to consider hospitality as a vibrant, rewarding career path.

With the industry facing ongoing recruitment challenges, Be Our Guest is a playful yet purposeful tool to help young people understand and appreciate the world of hospitality from an early age.
