Every year in the UK around 2300 men are diagnosed with Testicular Cancer

Underwear brand OddBalls set up a foundation in 2015 to raise awareness of the disease and to make a difference to male health around the world.

Local lad Tom Cumley is the Oddballs Foundation University Ambassador for our area and joined Smithy on the breakfast show for a catch up – and to tell us more about the valuable work the foundation does.

The exact cause of Testicular Cancer is unknown, but it is unusual as it tends to affect younger men, between the ages of 15 and 49.

As a University Ambassador, Tom is one of a team who deliver over 1000 awareness sessions, reaching more than 150,000 people across the country each year – raising awareness and promoting the Oddballs Foundation Check Yourself campaign.

Tom Cumley

The thought of discovering that you may have Testicular Cancer is daunting – but there is positive news – it is one of the most treatable forms of Cancer – and almost all men diagnosed will survive the disease.
