WBC Proposed Changes to Council Tax Reduction Scheme

Important:  Have Your Say before the 24th November

Warrington Borough Council is proposing changes to the Council Tax Reduction Scheme for working-age residents.  *Consultation closes at 5pm on Monday 24th November.
Proposed Changes:
  • Minimum Contribution: All working-age applicants would need to pay at least 22% of their council tax.
  • Capital Limit: The maximum savings threshold would be reduced from £16,000 to £6,000.
These changes are intended to help the council manage its budget – but they could place extra pressure on local families.
