MIX 56 (HD) CHESHIRE'S BEST MUSIC MIX
Sir Thomas Boteler High School in Latchford opened their doors to perspective students this evening, giving them a chance to discover the excellent facilities and to experience the incredibly friendly and vibrant atmosphere that’s on offer at the School.
Following a 6pm welcome from Headteacher Beverley Scott-Herron, guests were invited on a tour of the school – and to take part in some interactive activities over the course of the evening including the Problem of Evil game, the Maths Grand National, Bracelet Making, Fire Bubbles in the Science department – and as part of the English department offering, to experience the MIX56 Radio Workshop!
Rob McGowan and Ian James from MIX56 set up a mobile radio studio and over the course of three hours, encouraged more than 30 eager young people to take part in a “live” radio show where they presented news bulletins and travel updates.
It was an exciting evening of great fun and merriment in our packed-out studio and students were delighted and amazed to hear their voices on the playback of the audio we recorded.
Students went away with some MIX56 goodies, a MP3 file of thier contribution – and an experience to remember!
Although the open evening was the main showcase event for the school, they are also inviting perspective students and their families to visit on one of their school day tours, until 17th October. You can find out more at the official website.
