The Middlewich Concert Orchestra will be performing Dvořák’s New World Symphony on 30th November

Always a pleasure to welcome Eric Quirk to the MIX56 studio – and this morning he joined us to talk about the next performance by the Middlewich Concert Orchestra.

The headline performance will be Symphony Number 9 The new World Symphony by Antonin Dvořák at the Middlewich Victoria Hall on Saturday 30th November.

You may be wondering why we’re using a picture of Gold Hill in Shaftsbury for this article…it’s because Symphony number 9 Largo was used on the famous Boy on the Bike TV commercial for Hovis in the 1970’s!

This concert will also mark the final appearance by conductor Edwina Wolstencroft who is standing down after an incredible 15 years.

Tickets are a very reasonable £10 on the door – or £9 if you book online in advance.  As with all performances by the Middlewich Concert Orchestra, under 12’s are free!

A great night out is guaranteed!

Thanks so much to Eric for popping in today.  You can listen again right here.
