The Lymm Clothing Charity

Did you know, there’s a little-known charity based in Lymm which has been operating since the 17th Century?

Interestingly named as the Lymm Clothing Charity, the organisation doesn’t collect or distribute clothing – instead it is responsible for the Management of several long-standing investment endowments.

Interest income from these investments, amounting to around £1000 a year, is distributed via small grants (usually between £20 and £50) to needy residents in the parishes of Lymm and Oughtrington.

They also have provision for making larger one-off payments in special cases.

Cllr Kath Buckley was recently appointed Chair and is now looking to increase awareness of the Charity – and is inviting applications from those in need.

To apply for a grant, you only need to complete a simple application form (for yourself or for someone else) and submit it.  You can download the form below:

Though the charity doesn’t have a website, Cllr Kath Buckley can be contacted via her social media pages or by calling 01925 752439.
