Lymm Rugby Club celebrates King’s Award for Voluntary Service

Lymm Rugby Club is celebrating a huge honour this week after being awarded the King’s Award for Voluntary Service 2025 – the highest accolade a voluntary organisation can receive in the UK.

This remarkable achievement recognises the outstanding contribution of the many dedicated volunteers who give their time, energy and passion to make the club such a thriving part of village life.

Club stalwart Simon Plumb joined Smithy and Ian on the breakfast show to share the exciting news and reflect on what it means to everyone involved.

The award highlights the tremendous effort that goes into everything from coaching youngsters and running events to maintaining the club’s welcoming community atmosphere.

Congratulations to everyone at Lymm Rugby Club

It’s already been a brilliant month for Lymm Rugby Club, with another impressive win at the weekend against Taunton keeping spirits high both on and off the pitch.

And there’s even more to look forward to with the world-famous Lymm Panto returning very soon!

This year’s production, Jack and His Giant Beanstalk, is shaping up to be the hottest ticket in town – every performance, including an extra show due to demand, has now sold out.

It’s always worth joining the waiting list though, just in case!

Simon also shared details about a showstopping way to ring in the new year, with a New Year’s Eve 80s/90s extravaganza planned at the club.

The all-inclusive evening will feature live music, food and drinks – the perfect recipe for a brilliant night and an equally bright start to 2026.

From sporting success to sell-out shows and now royal recognition, Lymm Rugby Club continues to go from strength to strength.

A huge congratulations to everyone involved – and here’s to another fantastic year ahead!
