The journey has begun!

Early this morning at 8.30 sharp, Paul Foulkes and his fellow riders set off from Lymm Rugby Club on an epic cycling challenge that will take them all the way to Redruth.

Covering some 360 miles, the ride is no small feat – and it’s all in aid of raising funds for the club’s future.

Despite setting off in wet and windy conditions, the team were in great spirits as family, friends and supporters gathered to cheer them on their way.

The fundraising campaign has already been a huge success, with donations pushing close to the ambitious £10,000 target.

There’s still plenty of road ahead – but with determination, pedal power and plenty of encouragement, Paul and his comrades are on track to not only complete the journey, but to give Lymm Rugby Club a well-deserved boost.

Our presenter Ian James went along to cheer the guys on.  You can listen again right here.
