Go sober in Stoptober!

Why not join thousands of people across the UK who will be looking to give up smoking or alcohol – for at least the month of October!

Stoptober is a national smoking cessation campaign led by Public Health England that encourages smokers to start by abstaining from smoking for 28 days during the month of October.

Though a challenge, there’s lots of help available – you could even try fundraising to help encourage you along!

You can find out more at the NHS Website.

In this wellbeing episode, Leila also gives you tips and advice so you can keep on track!

October is also Go Sober for October, a campaign led by Macmillan Cancer Support.  It’s an opportunity for you to give up alcohol for the month – whilst raising much needed funds to help people living with cancer.

You are encouraged to register if taking part at the Macmillan Website.

Now, you may choose to completely give up smoking or alcohol (or both) during the month – or you may just decide to drastically cut down.

Whatever you decide, that is fine!  Even cutting down will bring health benefits – you’ll feel more energised and you’ll feel fitter.  It will also help to change the way you look at smoking and alcohol.
