Cheshire’s MIX56 were delighted to welcome Legendary 90s dance duo D:Ream to our breakfast show

Peter Cunnah and Al Mackenzie joined Smithy as a brand new version of Things Can Only Get Better is released, remixed by Mark Knight.

Back in the 1990’s D:Ream had two UK Top 10 albums.   1993’s D:Ream On Vo1 and 1995’s World.  Alongside these albums they also had ten Top 40 singles.

Things Can Only Get Better was no.1 for four weeks in 1994 then was famously co-opted as the anthem in 1997 by Tony Blair’s Labour Party, writing D:Ream into English history; pop, political and otherwise!

Paul chatted to Peter and Al about their long career, the famous scientist who once played keyboards for them – and the new album The Best Thing a collection of these hits, remastered from the original 2” tapes.

Also included are unreleased live versions of tracks from their 1995 Shepherds Bush Empire gig and other rare material.

The new single is out now

Things Can Only Get Better – the remix by Mark Knight is available now and is perfect for the current world mood.
