The Breakfast Show: 16th February 2026
It was an evening to remember at Chester Racecourse last Thursday as guests came together in celebration and support of Soul Kitchen Chester for the Heart & Soul Charity Ball — a glittering event that raised an incredible £10,232 for the 100% voluntary charity.
Now marking its 10th anniversary, Soul Kitchen Chester continues to provide food, friendship and vital support to those facing homelessness and food poverty across the city.
The Heart & Soul Ball was a true reflection of the charity’s spirit — bringing people together to make a difference in the most joyful way.
The night began with a sparkling welcome drinks reception hosted by Barlounge, CHANCE Clean Cider and Wrexham Lager, setting the tone for an evening filled with kindness and celebration.
Guests then enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by the talented team at Chester Racecourse and Horseradish, before taking part in a fun-filled lineup of entertainment — including a lively round of boogie bingo!

MIX56 was delighted to be part of the evening, capturing all the highlights and chatting with guests throughout the night.
Our very own Smithy caught up with event organiser Steven Hesketh – The Hospitality Hero – and Helen Anthony OBE, Chair of Soul Kitchen Chester, who shared moving insights into the charity’s decade of compassionate work.
The Heart & Soul Charity Ball truly lived up to its name — a night filled with generosity, community spirit, and celebration of a remarkable local cause.
