MIX 56 (HD) CHESHIRE'S BEST MUSIC MIX
Not many people like to think or talk about death. We know it’s an inevitable part of life – but if being honest, it’s a topic we’d rather file away and worry about later.
But as we get older, we do think of practicalities – like getting finances in order and having a will in place.
But perhaps we should think of our own funeral too. As we enter a new age, living celebrations of life are very much a thing now.
The practice of “attending your own funeral” whilst still in the land of living is nothing new – in Japanese culture it’s pretty common place and they’ve been doing it for years.
But now, we’re catching up in the West and it’s now an option here too.
One local company Houghtons now offers Living Celebration of Life Services – and though not for everybody, they are becoming increasingly popular.
It was a pleasure to welcome Robert and Louise from Houghtons to our morning studio.
Robert told us that “It’s very much a bespoke service which can help families reconnect with their loved ones. It’s a life event which becomes a living memory to cherish and reflect on”.
Louise was inspired to the profession and joined Houghtons after attending her father’s funeral several years ago – a service which had been organised by Robert.
Quite the testimonial!
Though a living celebration of life may not be for everybody, it could be the perfect option for some.
Houghtons have funeral homes in Stockton Heath, Great Sankey, Widnes and on Lovely Lane in Warrington. Why not give them a call to discuss the options available?
