Lymm History Society Unveils an exciting 2025/26 Programme

Lymm History Society has just announced its brand new programme of events for 2025/26, promising another engaging year of talks, stories and discoveries from the village’s remarkable past.

Founded in 1967, the society has spent nearly six decades bringing local history to life.

From industrial heritage and tales of the canal, to the extraordinary characters and events that have shaped the village, it continues to showcase the wealth of fascinating stories that make Lymm unique.

The society’s meetings are always welcoming, whether you’re a long-time resident or someone newly curious about Lymm’s past.

Each event provides a chance to learn something new, enjoy expert talks, and meet fellow history enthusiasts who share a passion for uncovering the surprising, quirky, and sometimes incredible episodes in the village’s story.

With the new programme now in place, there’s never been a better time to get involved!

From September, meetings will be held on the second Monday of each month.  Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start and non-members are most welcome.

As a non-member, it’s £5 on the door -but- if you join the society for just £10 a year, it’s only £1.

Refreshments are provided at half time.

It was a pleasure to welcome Sue Edwards from the Society to the MIX56 studios this morning.  You can listen again right here.
