MIX 56 CHESHIRE'S BEST MUSIC MIX
On the weekend of 8th August, Chelford once again played host to one of the region’s most cherished summer traditions — the Astle Park Steam Rally.
With its unique blend of nostalgia, community spirit, and family fun, the rally drew crowds from near and far, eager to experience an unforgettable day out.
The gentle chug of steam engines set the tone across Astle Park’s rolling grounds, where beautifully preserved traction engines, classic vehicles, and vintage machinery lined up in all their splendour.
For enthusiasts, it was a feast of engineering heritage; for first-time visitors, it was a captivating journey into the past.
Away from the engines, the rally buzzed with entertainment. Families enjoyed live displays, craft stalls, and traditional fairground rides, while food vendors tempted visitors with everything from hearty local fare to sweet treats.
There was something for all ages, creating that warm, inclusive atmosphere that makes the rally such a highlight of the Cheshire calendar.
Above all, the day was a celebration of dedication — from the exhibitors who lovingly maintain their machines to the organisers and volunteers who bring this vibrant event to life year after year.
The 2025 Astle Park Steam Rally left attendees with smiling faces, fond memories, and a renewed appreciation for Britain’s steam and countryside heritage.
As the sun set over Chelford, one thing was clear: the magic of Astle Park is alive and well, and the rally remains a shining testament to community spirit and the joy of tradition.
Our reporter Rob McGowan was broadcasting live from the event. You can listen again to some of the highlights right here.
