Professor Steven Broomhead – Chief Executive of Warrington Borough Council, is retiring after a remarkable career spanning nearly half a century across public service, academia and the private sector.

Over two terms as chief executive, he has dedicated nearly 20 years to leading Warrington with vision, integrity and a steadfast commitment to community well-being.

His leadership has made Warrington one of the most business-friendly councils in the country, championing strong growth, regeneration and innovative public services.

As he prepares for a well-earned retirement, his impact on Warrington and the wider region stands as a testament to what can be achieved through dedication, partnership, and a belief in the power of public service.
