Exclusive: We meet the new host of ITV Granada Reports

The wait is over!  Katie Walderman is to join Gamal on ITV News Granada Reports..

There’s been many contenders for the position since Lucy Meacock stepped down from the role a few weeks ago – but in a MIX56 exclusive we went behind the scenes to meet the new host before it was announced to the public.

The new co-host joining Gamal each evening will be Katie Walderman.

Katie will not be a stranger to many of you – her broadcasting career started in radio and prior to this exciting new role she was regularly on our screens at BBC Northwest Tonight.

Smithy went along to meet Katie at the ITV Granada studios in Salford Quays.  You can listen again right here.

Katie will first make her appearance on tonight’s ITV News Granada Reports at 5.30pm.
