The latest Guardian has hit the news stands and here’s our weekly catch up with Deputy Editor Gareth Dunning

The main stroy of the week has to be the dramatic accident on the Thelwall Viaduct.

Shortly after 6.50pm on Monday, an HGV crashed through the barriers on the M6 Northbound on the viaduct – and plumeted 60 feet down to the embankment below the bridge.

The 56 year old driver thankfully, escaped with minor injuries and was later discharged from hospital.

T J Hughes is coming to town

Last week we covered the news that department store TJ Hughes is to make a return to the town – but at the time, the exact location hadn’t been confirmed.

We can now reveal that the new department store will move into the old Debenhams store in Golden Square.

This is great news for the town!

Mr Miyagi loves going to the pub!

One of the stories to make you smile this week is Mr Miyagi – an African Tortoise – who, along with his keeper Jackie Leek has become a bit of a sensation in their local pub!

Read all about it in this week’s Warrington Guardian!
