In Demand: Artist Karl Chester
Local Artist Karl Chester designs trainers for Ed Sheeran and Sir Elton John!
Karl, a talented artist from Latchford popped in to join Smithy on Monday’s breakfast show.
He caught our eye recently with a story in the Warrington Guardian about designing a pair of bespoke trainers for Ed Sheeran.
The story started when Karl was tasked with creating some Ed Sheeran style trainers as a wedding present for a customer’s wife who is a huge fan.
When Karl shared his pictures, he was amazed to get a request from the man himself.
Ed Sheeran then shared his pictures to his 17 million followers and on the back of this Karl, who owns Starline Customs was contacted by the chairman of Elton John’s company, Luke Lloyd-Davies.
Karl was asked if he was available to customise a pair of trainers for Elton John and his husband David Furnish!
How could you refuse such a request. Karl say “It took me all of 2 seconds to say yes!”
We thought this was a great story, so invited Karl into our studios to tell us about it.
