Pete Reeves

Background

Hi, I’m Pete Reeves. I present the Drive time show for MIX56 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4.00 to 6.00.

What can I tell you about myself? Let’s start at the beginning..

I was born at the same hospital, as Helen Mirren and Daniel Radcliffe, Queen Charlotte’s in London. I was an August baby. A Virgo.

Virgoans are known to be caring, hardworking, intellectuals. Well, one out of three’s not bad!

Also Virgoans have a love of knowledge and facts and are very creative.  You’ll have to believe me on that one.

I studied at Southampton College of Art and the University of Salford. In my teen years, I had a fascination with windows as I started out working as a Window Cleaner, then went on to be a Window dresser.

I love good food, especially Vietnamese.

My secret vice though is Ice cream, and cake. I also have a fondness for beer, and a glass of wine.

After a couple of years running a mobile disco, my first job in radio was at a biscuit factory, for the United Biscuits Network. The perks were, you’d get a big bag of wonky Hobnobs, for fifty pence.

In the following years, I broadcast on Piccadilly Radio, KEY 103, Red Rose Radio, Radio West and Radio 4. I’ve also written scripts for TV shows such as Count Duckula, Pingu, Bob the Builder and Postman Pat. Which means I’ve gone through a few pens over the years!

Oh yes, and one important thing I should tell you. I’m 6.5 inches taller than JK Rowling, although she’s far richer than me. I look forward to you joining me every Monday, Wednesday and Friday on Drive time from 4 to 6. Cheers!
