Give it a Go – Warrington’s Creative Spark for Young People

Ever wanted to try your hand at DJing, beatboxing, street art, or even VR design—right here in Warrington?

Thanks to the “Give it a Go” initiative from Culture Warrington, local young people are getting the chance to do just that, and much more.

This exciting project is all about sparking creativity, building confidence, and giving every young person the opportunity to explore their potential through the arts.

Launched with a helping hand from the Police and Crime Commissioner Dan Price’s SWAP Fund, Give it a Go has been awarded a £5,000 grant—part of a much wider funding pot aimed at bringing positive change to Warrington’s communities.

The SWAP Fund itself is a clever idea: it takes money recovered from criminal activity and uses it to create something good, swapping harm for hope and action for the area’s youth.

So, what does “Give it a Go” actually involve?

The project offers a range of hands-on workshops and creative activities designed especially for young people.

Whether you’re curious about making music, painting a mural, or designing in virtual reality, there’s something for everyone.

The aim isn’t just to have fun—though that’s definitely a big part of it — but also to help young people develop new skills, make new friends, and feel part of their local community.

Culture Warrington is passionate about making sure these opportunities are accessible and inclusive, so every young person in the area can join in, regardless of their background or experience.

The charity is also working hard to put young people’s voices at the heart of what they do, listening to what local youth want and using their feedback to shape future activities.

In short, Give it a Go is about more than just creative workshops—it’s about giving young people in Warrington the chance to shine, to be heard, and to help shape the cultural life of their town.

With support from the SWAP Fund and a team that truly cares, this initiative is set to make a real difference for years to come!
