The day is a powerful celebration of inclusion, resilience, and community spirit.
It’s a day dedicated to recognising the incredible talents, achievements, and contributions of disabled people, while also challenging misconceptions and breaking down barriers –it’s about what you can do!
It was a pleasure to welcome Dave Thompson MBE DL, Chief Executive of Warrington Disability Parntership to our studio. You can listen again right here.
On one Sunday afternoon in 1989, Dave’s life changed forever.
A devistating sporting accident left him with a broken neck and wheelchair bound.
But from tradgey came something very positive as he set up Warrington Disability Partnership – a business which has been helping and inspiring people around the world ever since.
The FREE event takes place at Walton Hall Gardens on Sunday 13th July 2025 between 10am and 4.30pm.
On offer will be 100’s of support groups and services, equipment and vehicle suppliers – plus family entertainment, active arts and even a sports zone with scuba diving!
Disability Awareness Day (“DAD”) is now the world’s largest ‘not for profit’ voluntary-led disability exhibition, focusing on what disabled people can do throughout life and work.
You can find out more at the official website.
